Problem:

Design an editorial using text from the book “Gone with the Wind” that illustrates the toxic “protagonist’s” character development and overall positive growth.

 

Solution:

By taking specific text from the book that describes some of the many tragic events Scarlette endured, one might recognize that with every obstacle she conquers, her character becomes stronger and less selfish. Taking place near the end of the book, Scarlette’s friend Melanie is on her deathbed, where Scarlett displays compassion and empathy for the first time, thus revealing positive growth in her character.
